Let Them Paint...

"Our task, regarding creativity, is to help children climb their own mountains, as high as possible. No one can do more."

Paint has been used as a way of allowing children express themselves this week. Children have continued their interests and initiated new ideas to support their explorations with paint...

Observational

Fruit was used as a provocation this week, to allow children to slow down the process of thinking and allowing them to spend time to record what they can actually see, rather than what they think something looks like. Through this, children understanding was furthered and further questions were provoked...

"I thought all peppers were red, I've never seen an orange one before".

"This aubergine is so purple! But, its been bruised too, so it has black on it"

We're not making a mess!!!

We spent the day outdoors on Thursday afternoon, introducing powder paint. This allowed children to understand the skills of mixing paint with water in order for it to transform into a liquid. Children explored paint in a variety of ways as they were able to use paintbrushes and even their whole bodies to make marks and tell stories though their play..

Next week, we look forward to inviting you all to our EYFS Open Days, which will allow you to speak to staff in regards to how your child has settled this term and discuss the fun things they enjoyed!!

Have a great weekend!
